Research activities in the Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department are generally classified as follows: Rheological modeling of drilling fluids, effects of drilling and production activities on the environment, reservoir characterization with CT, geostatistical methods, fractal mathematics, and artificial intelligence methods, underground storage of natural gas, advanced oil recovery techniques, geothermal reservoir engineering, natural gas hydrates, biological remediation, scaling in geothermal waters, reservoir modeling.
