Değerli 4. sınıf ve Lisansüstü öğrencilerimiz,

1. 2025-2026 Güz Döneminde açılacak teknik seçmeli derslerin listesi aşağıdaki tabloda verilmiştir. Bu dersleri 4. Sınıf öğrencilerimiz ya da lisansüstü öğrencilerimiz alabilir.

2. Lisans ve lisansüstü öğrencilerimizin tercihlerini belirtmek için aşağıda bağlantısı verilen tercih formunu 26 Eylül 2025 Cuma günü saat 17:00'a kadar (kayıtların bittiği saate kadar) doldurup göndermeleri gerekmektedir.

3. Belirtilen tarihten önce gönderdiğiniz son gönderiminizin, geçerli tercihiniz olarak değerlendirileceğini ve belirtilen tarihten sonra forma erişiminizin kaldırılacağını lütfen unutmayın.

4. Tercihlerinize, kümülatif genel not ortalamanıza ve dersin kontenjanına göre belirlenip, derse kaydolabilecek öğrencilerin listesi önümüzdeki hafta başında Bölüm web sayfamızda ilan edilecektir.

5. Yaptığınız tercihlerin derse kayıt anlamına gelmediğini ve seçtiğiniz derslerin add-drop döneminde kayıt sistemine eklemeniz ve danışmanınızın onayını almanız gerektiğini unutmayın. Ders kaydının add-drop döneminde yapılması gereği bilgisi sizlere bu yazı ile bildirildiği için add-drop sonrası kayıt talepleri reddedilecektir.

Dear 4th-grade and graduate students,

1. The list of technical elective courses to be offered in the 2025-2026 Spring Semester is given in the table below. Our 4th year students or graduate students can take these courses.

2. Our undergraduate and graduate students must fill out and submit the preference form, the link of which is provided below, by 17:00 on Friday, September 26, 2025 (until the end of registration) to indicate their preferences.

3. Please note that your last submission before the specified date will be considered as your valid preference and your access to the form will be removed after the specified date.

4. The list of students who can register for the course, determined according to your preferences, CGPA and the quota of the course, will be announced on our Department website at the beginning of next week.

5. Please note that the preferences you make do not mean registration for the course and that you must add the courses you have selected to the registration system during the add-drop period and receive approval from your advisor. Since you are informed with this letter that the course registration must be made during the add-drop period, registration requests after the add-drop will be rejected.

Kurallar:

• Derslerde açılan kontenjanlar, gelen talepler doğrultusunda her derse eşit sayıda öğrenci düşecek şekilde belirlenecektir.
• Lisans öğrencileri 2 adet teknik seçmeli ders başvurusu yapabileceklerdir. Daha fazla teknik seçmeli ders almak isteyen öğrenciler gerekçelerini formda bildirecek, bölüm değerlendirmesi yapıldıktan sonra gerekli görülmesi halinde alabileceklerdir.
• Teknik seçmeli derslerde öncelik, mezuniyet durumunda olan öğrencilerde olacaktır. 4. sınıfta olan fakat mezuniyet durumunda olmayan öğrenciler, 100 kredilik ders toplamını geçmeleri halinde 1 adet teknik seçmeli ders için başvuru yapabilirler. Bu öğrenciler, bölüm değerlendirmesi sonrasında en fazla 1 teknik seçmeli ders alabileceklerdir.
• Lisans öğrencileri lisansüstü derslere başvuramayacaktır.
• Teknik seçmeli dersler için bölümümüz lisansüstü öğrencilerinin de tercihlerini aşağıdaki forma girmeleri gerekmektedir.
• Petrol ve Doğal Gaz Mühendisliği dışındaki öğrenciler de teknik seçmeli derslere başvurabilirler, fakat herhangi bir dersi alabilmeleri için dersi veren öğretim üyesi ile iletişime geçmeleri ve ilgili öğretim üyesinden dersi almasının uygun olduğunu beyan eden yazılı bir belge (öğretim üyesinin doğrudan yazacağı bir yazı veya Bölüm Sekreteri/ Bölüm Başkanlığı / Sorumlu Araştırma Görevlilerine gönderilecek bir E-Posta) ile başvurusunu tamamlaması gerekmektedir. Bu öğrencilerin de form doldurmaları zorunludur ve bu öğrencilere, en fazla bölüm öğrencilerine açılan kontenjanın %50’si kadar kontenjan verilecektir. Sorumlu araştırma görevlilerinin mailleri aşağıda verilmiştir:

• Teknik seçmeli ders tercihlerinde formu dikkatle doldurmanız ve tercihleriniz sonucunda alacağınız derslere kayıt yaptırmanız önemlidir. 2025-2026 Güz döneminde kayıt hakkı kazanan ancak kazandıkları teknik seçmeli derslere kayıt yaptırmayan öğrenciler takip edilecektir. Bu öğrenciler, ilerleyen dönemlerde tercih önceliklerini kaybedebilecek ve tercih sırasında en son sıraya alınabileceklerdir.
• PETE444 dersinde önkoşul olarak PETE344 ve ES361 derslerini DD veya üzeri bir harf notu ile geçmiş olmak gerekmektedir. Diğer derslerde herhangi bir önkoşul uygulanmayacaktır.

 Rules:

• The course capacity of each technical elective course will be determined based on the number of requests received, with an equal number of students allocated to each course.
• Undergraduate students may apply for 2 technical elective courses. Students who wish to take more technical elective courses must state their reasons on the form and may be allowed to do so if deemed necessary after departmental evaluation.
• Priority in technical elective courses will be given to students who are eligible for graduation. Students in their 4th year who are not eligible for graduation may apply for one technical elective course if they have completed a total of 100 credits. These students will be able to take a maximum of one technical elective course following departmental evaluation.
• Undergraduate students will not be able to apply for graduate courses.
• For technical elective courses, graduate students in our department must also enter their preferences in the form below.
• Students other than Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering can apply for courses offered in our department, but in order to take any course, they must contact the faculty member teaching the course and complete their application with a written document (a letter written directly by the faculty member, or an e-mail to be sent to the Department Secretary / Department Head / Responsible Research Assistants) declaring that it is appropriate to take the course from the relevant faculty member. These students are also required to fill in the form, and they will be allocated up to 50% of the quota available to department students. The e-mails of the responsible research assistants are given below:

• It is important that you carefully fill out the form for your technical elective course preferences and register for the courses you will take as a result of your preferences. Students who are eligible to register for the 2025-2026 Fall semester but do not register for the technical elective courses they have earned will be monitored. These students may lose their preference priority in future semesters and may be placed at the bottom of the preference list.
• The prerequisite for the PETE444 course is a grade of DD or higher in the PETE344 and ES361 courses. There are no prerequisites for other courses.
